“We’re a company that fully understands the clinical,
and e-clinical, trial process from both from the sponsor and the
site perspective… What’s different is that we don’t
have to take the whole trial. We could, but what we find is that
most sponsors don’t want that. They may just want the project
management piece and the monitoring or they may just need data management.
We offer a platform that’s flexible, scaleable and allows
them to choose the services that they need. We
build a project team and that team stays together for the life of
the project for that client. Our CRA’s have an average of
seven years of monitoring and e-monitoring experience. We have very

Markham: ‘Everybody can look at that data concurrently,’
she says. ‘You have a bird’s eye view of studies. You
can manage enrollment better. You have a better view of investigator
performance. Frankly, that wasn’t kept by many companies’.
Part of her company’s job, she believes, is to get out the
message of the overall, cumulative financial savings and operational
efficiencies that EDC delivers. She thinks the industry needs to
move away from overly simplistic accounting that may make EDC appear
to cost more. ‘It is a cost savings,’ she says of EDC.
